COMPASSIONATE QUALITY CARE
Time is our most precious commodity. Keeping active and engaged is ultimately what promotes longevity and happiness. Appointments with me are longer and more personalized, with compassion and humanity as a cornerstone my care. I am involved and have a hands-on approach to my care with each person. Each individual has his or her own needs. This is not a “one size fits all” style. I will identify your unique risk factors based on family and social history and take actions to help prevent disease. You will not feel rushed. With more time, we can prevent errors and prevent wasted time. I practice traditional medicine with head-to-toe exams. My Internal Medicine training taught me to treat patients with and in-depth approach of multiple medical chronic conditions and helping my patients improve their longevity. I believe in prescribing less for my patients, only what is needed. I am a diagnostician and have a hands on approach. I also will be coordinating with specialists in the care of my patients, and I consistently follow up on my patient's concerns. My goal is also to help improve quality of life for my patients in the long term.
NO BARRIERS
There will be no barrier between you and your physician. I can get you in to be seen, whether for a serious concern or a cold. You won’t feel like you have to ignore your important symptoms because you can’t get in to be seen.

I have a hands on, involved approach to taking care of my patients. I am very responsive and caring.

About Dr. Amy
Board Certified Internal Medicine
I enjoy having the time to get to know my patients. After practicing medicine for greater than 24 years in the Denver Metro area, I’ve learned that healthcare is best delivered by building a bond with my patients. I completely believe that you can obtain high quality healthcare when has the time to form this strong bond. Life is about relationships, and it is through a trusting bond that we can go the extra mile to help one another. Everyone of us is unique, ang getting to know someone is a fundamental part of how I care for them.
As an Internal Medicine physician, I treat more complex disorders and communicate with specialists regularly. Internal Medicine physicians have in-depth training in adults 18 and above. I grew up watching my father (who worked as a small town general surgeon as well as a primary care physician) develop healthy relationships with his patients, and he is my role model. After graduating medical school from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1997 and completing my residency at St. Joseph/Creighton University in Phoenix, AZ, I vowed to help serve my patients and continue my father's legacy. I go the extra mile for my patients. My research during medical school was in oncology, focusing on melanoma. I presented my research results at a national conference in Carmel, California in 1997.

I also believe in prescribing less medication, prescribing only what is needed, especially with my older patients. My patients that live into their 90s or 100s take maybe only one medication. I thoroughly believe in focusing on quality of life, healthy habits and nurturing healthy social interactions. My patients refer to me as a "physician with a heart" and humanistic.

I enjoy teaching and working with medical students and have taught physical exam skills at the University of Colorado. I also have worked at the Cleveland Clinic and have a California Medical license. Medicine is always changing, and at least yearly, I attend a Mayo clinic conference to keep up to date with medicine. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, oil painting, swimming, reading and practicing yoga. I am fluent in Spanish & Arabic and also am proficient in Italian and French.
